LAURIE IAMS was born in Yakima, Washington. Her performing career started when she was 7 with baton twirling, dance performances, HS dance team captain, theater, group fitness. She had a musical upbringing and always loved to sing, but was too shy to do so in public. In 2007 she moved to New York where her singing career launched at a karaoke bar! After singing for the first time in public, her friends begged her to join their a cappella groups. They performed several times at the Egg in Albany, New York and other venues over the course of 3 years. Later Laurie joined a Seattle based Zydeco band as a percussionist and vocals, Seattle and Portland Sweet Adeline’s and PDX Vox in Portland. Laurie joins local musicians occasionally for backup Harmony, which she finds challenging and rewarding.
