This CSL certificated class offers the principles of Science of Mind with an emphasis on daily meditation, emotional healing, soul presence, self-love, practical application, and life direction. Combining the integrative principles and techniques from spiritual psychology with the power of the Science of Mind philosophy, this class offers a dynamic opportunity for exploring and expressing your authentic self.

All materials except the required text will be provided to you. There are no prerequisites for this class.

Description:

The Advanced Consciousness Studies Course is a Mastery Level Course. It will guide you on a journey toward what it means to practice the Science of Mind, and to be fully human and fully divine. The theme for Term Three is Embracing. You’ll explore what it means to truly embrace all of life.

Being uncomfortable is the least of our concerns, because we have a lotta love work to do. Stepping out of our comfort zone allows us to participate in the Grand Rising. We wake up from unconscious beliefs and behaviors, and move towards conscious action that supports evolution individually and collectively.

Myrtle Brown started her love as a vocalist here in 1968 with a local band for about a year until the leader moved out of town. She has been back on the music scene since 1980 to the present and has enjoyed performing in musical theater, traveling, recording, and singing on the local scene and abroad. She has also opened for many national entertainers. She loves her gospel music and shares her gift with other styles of music.

The practice for today is GRATITUDE. On her show, Oprah Winfrey frequently promotes the daily practice of gratitude. Expressing gratitude to others and to ourselves has a direct affect on our mental and physical attitude. People who express gratitude suffer less stress, are more optimistic and in general are happier than those who do not.

As we move through comfort to discomfort to growth, returning again to the journey at a higher awareness and greater willingness to live outside our comfort zone, we become more of who we truly are.

Patti Smith wrote, “We go through life. We shed our skins. We become ourselves.” As we become more aware, every experience on our journey brings us closer to God, closer to our Selves.

February, the month we celebrate Love, reminds us that the ultimate comfort, peace, harmonious life is as Love. Allowing ourselves to hope / know that Love is the kernel of Light in every fear, every false belief, waiting patiently to be revealed, is the transformative healing process.

Join us to explore the transformation that begins, lives, and ends with Love, the Divine Light that is who we are.

PCSL’s GRAND RISING:  APPRECIATIVE INQUIRY,
a workshop led by Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller

As a means of enhancing our New Minister Covenant and further refining our vision as a community, let’s gather together after the Sunday Service with Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller to clarify who and what PCSL is and what we intend to become. Using a method called Appreciative Inquiry, Dr. Miller will lead us through a process to help us all find and name what we love about PCSL, want to see remain, and want to see more of, as the process of hiring a new minister to serve the congregation, unfolds. 
A light lunch will be provided for those attending in-person. Please register  by February 1st, 2024.  Thank you and hope to see you there.
