The Board of Directors manages the secular and financial affairs
of the Center, supports the Senior Minister in the performance
of her duties, and enthusiastically participates in Center
activities. Board members are elected to a two-year term, and
are eligible for re-election for one additional term. If elected,
you must commit to attending monthly Board meetings.

Anyone can host a small group discussion; it’s as simple as talking with your neighbor! Rev. Bridget will prepare questions to guide your discussions and each small group will be supported by a practitioner.

Following the Celebration Service

Join us as we gather for a Fall potluck in celebration of the bounty of Spirit present in our lives. Please bring a friend to introduce to the community–that’s how our loving membership grows. The Center will provide turkey and ham; you bring your favorite holiday side dishes to share.  Sign up below or in the sanctuary at the back table to let us know what dish you plan to bring and how many will be attending.

Sunday Service Ritual ~ Bring 1 Picture

Day of the Dead is November 2nd. This is a festive time in Mexico and other parts of Latin America, a day to celebrate, honor, and give thanks for loved ones who have passed on to the other side. Ofrendas (altars) are central to the celebration. On Sunday, Nov. 2nd, we will build an ofrenda together during our Celebration Service. Bring a photo of your loved one (human or not) to place on the altar as part of our ritual.

For those participating through our virtual community space, we invite you to build an altar at home, a space set apart with items that remind you of your loved one. During our ritual on Nov. 2nd, have a photo of your loved one with you; you will be invited to participate in the ritual.

Fall Equinox is an auspicious day of balance between light and dark revered across the ancient world spiritual traditions and indigenous cultures. The service will include sacred sounds, handpan, singing, mantras, prayer, meditation and ritual to serve your spiritual development, deep practice and mystical harmony.

At this event, Practitioner Sean AB Larkin will share his contemplative handpan music for an inward journey as well as uplifting celebration.

Our beloved LaRhonda Steele will share singing and chanting of deep spiritual resonance and profound joy.

Practitioner Kathryn Richer will lead us in setting the sacred space and imbuing it with prayer and affirmation.

Have you wanted to become a full member of our loving community? Join our Senior Minister and Spiritual Director, Rev. Bridget, Kathy Ballard, Board President, and Sean AB Larkin, RScP to learn the basics of what we believe, where we fit in and how we serve. The class is free, implies no obligation, and everyone is welcome to explore the idea of membership. The class will be held both online, via Zoom technology, and in-person at the Center in the upstairs classroom. You may participate either way.

When you register, you will be emailed full information on how to attend via Zoom and/or in person and will be sent materials to help you better understand membership at the Center for Spiritual Living in Portland.
